Privacy Policy
Effective date: 4 November 2026
The short version
- Your progress and settings are saved on your phone. The game has no accounts and no servers of its own, and we, Cat Boss Games, receive no data about you.
- The game is free and shows ads through Appodeal and its ad partners. To show and measure ads and to stop ad fraud, they collect your phone's advertising ID, its IP address (and a rough location worked out from it), device and app details, and how you interact with the ads.
- In the EEA and the UK the game asks for your consent before ads are personalised. You can change your choice in the game: PROFILE, then PRIVACY, then AD CHOICES.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings at any time.
- For the daily rewards the game asks google.com or cloudflare.com for today's date. Nothing about you is sent with that request.
- The game is not made for children under 13. It is made for players 16 and over.
1. Who we are
Cat Boss: Claw City is an Android game published on Google Play under the package name com.catboss.game. It is made by Cat Boss Games, an independent developer. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Cat Boss Games, and "the game" means Cat Boss: Claw City.
For any question about privacy, email us at support@playcatboss.com.
Appodeal and each of its ad partners decide for themselves how they use the data they collect through the game, and each of them is responsible for that under its own privacy policy. Their links are in the partner list below.
2. What the game keeps on your phone
The game saves your progress and settings in its own private storage on your phone. This includes:
- your fish, cats, cars, guns and crew, and your progress in missions, levels, races and challenges;
- your settings, such as language, sound, controls and camera;
- the nickname you can type on the Profile screen (it starts as "Boss");
- the dates of your daily reward and lucky wheel spins, and the times of recent ads, which the game uses to show at most one full-screen ad a day.
The game never sends this data to us, and we cannot see it. It is deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its storage in your phone's settings.
If backup to your Google Account is turned on in your phone's settings, Android may include the game's saved data in that backup. Google runs that backup under Google's Privacy Policy.
The game does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone, and it has no chat and no way to share content with other players.
3. The date check
To stop the daily reward, the lucky wheel and the daily challenges from being cheated by changing the phone's clock, the game takes today's date from the internet. When it needs the date, it sends a small HTTPS request to https://www.google.com/generate_204 and, if that does not answer, to https://www.cloudflare.com/cdn-cgi/trace, and reads only the date from the reply.
The request carries no account, no identifier and no game data. Like any internet connection, it shows your IP address to Google or Cloudflare, which handle it under their own policies: Google's Privacy Policy and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We receive and keep nothing from this check.
4. Ads: Appodeal and its partners
The game is free because it shows ads. There are two kinds:
- rewarded videos that you choose to watch, for a revive, a free taxi, an extra spin of the lucky wheel or an unlock;
- at most one full-screen ad a day, shown between jobs.
We use Appodeal (Appodeal, Inc., United States) to choose and show these ads. Appodeal runs an auction in which its ad partners offer ads, and the winner's ad is shown. To do this, the Appodeal software in the game and the software of its partners collect data from your phone and can share it with each other and with advertisers:
- your Android advertising ID and other identifiers for the device or the app;
- your IP address, and the approximate location worked out from it, such as your country or city (the game has no location permission, so they cannot get your precise location from it);
- device and app details, such as the phone model, operating system, language, screen, memory and storage, network type and mobile carrier, app version and browser user agent;
- how you interact with ads: which ads you saw, your taps on them, and whether a video was watched to the end;
- diagnostic data about their software, such as performance data and crash reports.
Some partners also list other identifiers they create and in-app purchase information in their own disclosures. The game has no in-app purchases.
They use this data to show ads, to personalise ads where you allow it, to count views and taps, to limit how often you see the same ad, to pay us for the ads shown, to detect fraud, and to improve their services. Appodeal and many partners are based outside your country, for example in the United States, Europe and Asia, so this data may be processed in other countries under the safeguards their policies describe.
Read Appodeal's Privacy Policy. Appodeal also keeps a list of its partners with links to their privacy policies and opt-out pages, and an opt-out page for interest-based ads.

5. Your ad choices in the game
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, Appodeal's consent form appears when the game first starts its ads. The form is Appodeal's own consent manager, built on Google's User Messaging Platform and the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. In it you can accept or refuse personalised ads, and choose purposes and partners.
If you refuse, you still see ads, but they are not personalised. Partners may still process some data without consent where the law allows it, for example to count ad views, to limit how often an ad is shown and to prevent fraud. The form explains each of these purposes.
To change or withdraw your choice later, open PROFILE in the game, tap PRIVACY, then tap AD CHOICES. The AD CHOICES button appears where privacy law gives you this choice. The PRIVACY screen also shows a short version of this policy.
In US states whose privacy laws, such as California's, let you opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted ads, sharing your advertising ID and similar data with ad partners may count as such a sale or sharing. Where Appodeal offers that opt-out, it is under the same AD CHOICES button. Deleting your advertising ID, as described in the next section, also stops personalised ads, wherever you live.
6. Turning off personalised ads on Android
Your advertising ID is a number that Android gives your phone for ads. You control it, not us:
- To delete it: open Settings > Privacy > Ads and tap Delete advertising ID. On some phones the screen is Settings > Google > Ads. Apps then get a string of zeros instead of an ID.
- To replace it with a new one: on the same screen, tap Reset advertising ID. Data linked to the old ID is then no longer linked to your phone.
- On older Android versions, turn on Opt out of Ads Personalization on the same Ads screen.
You will still see ads in the game, but they will be less related to your interests.
7. Children
The game is not made for children under 13. It is made for players 16 and over, because it has crime stories and realistic weapons. The game itself collects no data from anyone, and it tells its ad partners that it is not made for children.
If you believe a child under 13 has played the game, email us at support@playcatboss.com with the phone's advertising ID (shown on the Ads screen in the phone's settings). We will ask Appodeal to delete the ad data linked to it. You can also delete the advertising ID yourself, as described above.
8. How long data is kept
The data on your phone stays until you uninstall the game or clear its storage. We hold no data about you, so there is nothing to delete on our side.
Appodeal and its partners keep the data they collect for as long as their own policies say. If you email us, we keep your email only as long as we need it to answer you and to handle your request.
9. Security
Your saved game stays in the game's private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot read. The date check uses HTTPS. Appodeal and its partners protect the data they collect with their own measures, which we do not control, and not every partner states that all of its connections are encrypted. Their policies, linked above, describe how they protect data.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EEA, the UK GDPR, or the privacy laws of US states such as California, you may have the right to:
- know what personal data is processed about you and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- object to its use, or limit it, including for personalised ads;
- withdraw your consent at any time, which does not affect what was done before you withdrew it;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information;
- use these rights without being treated differently in the game.
Because we hold no data about you, requests about ad data are best answered by Appodeal and its partners, who hold it. You can contact them through the links above. You can also email us at support@playcatboss.com: say what you would like, and include your advertising ID if the request is about ad data. We will pass it on to Appodeal and reply to you within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change affects how your data is used, we will also mention it in the game's release notes on Google Play.
